Blackwood Heritage Pty Ltd (BHC) is a consulting firm that specialises in the delivery of high quality, strategic, innovative and cost-effective solutions in archaeology and cultural heritage management. We have the capacity to offer heritage services on a project by project basis, a competitive tendering basis or as a contracted service provider.
BHC has considerable field experience in South Australia, particularly in the Mid North. We have a close working relationship with the Ngadjuri community, having managed Ngadjuri Nation’s community-based heritage database since 2008. This has afforded us an in depth knowledge of the archaeology of the area. We also have close working relationships with other Aboriginal groups in Australia, particularly the Nukunu and the Narungga.
Our use of hand held GPS enabled PCs to record archaeological sites and objects can provide near real time advice on the spatial extent of any features located. We use ESRI products to record and process GIS data. Our integration of ‘tracklog’ data in combination with immediate shape creation of site boundaries provides a high degree of confidence in survey data and importantly, the ability to rely on that documented coverage well into the future.
BHC is committed to providing services in a safe and sustainable manner and all aspects of our operations are covered by Health, Safety and Environment Plan.
